![]() by John Allen Mollenhauer “JAM” My company went live with our new Lifestyle Coach website this week. It's been 20 years in the making. “Twenty years to launch a website?” you might ask. No, a few months to launch the website, twenty years to have a level of mastery in what's being taught at LifestyleCoach.com, so we can save you up to 20 years or more. As the founder and head coach, I am launching Lifestyle Coach—Live a Better Life! —ahead of 2022 because there is a big trend. People are upgrading their lifestyles to perform better, achieve their ambitious life career, business, and creative goals, and have a better quality of life, especially after a ridiculously challenging two years. As a silver lining to the pandemic, many got a taste of a better life structure, which is a massive catalyst to living a better life. If you have followed me for any period, you would know that I espouse a very different view on lifestyle than what is promoted in the lexicon of capitalism "achieve your goals to live a better lifestyle;" as the byproduct of your success. There is nothing wrong with that definition; it's just the secondary definition of lifestyle. Because if you don't get the primary meaning, your health and success results may not be that awesome or last that long.
I am revealing that primary meaning because it is at the heart of why I do what I do. It's my mission to help people get free of diseases from fatigue to cancer, 85-95% of which are lifestyle-induced, and prevent people from fulfilling their God-inspired dreams. Your lifestyle is How You Achieve Your Goals; that is the primary purpose of why you would want to live better. It's your approach to success and sustaining that success. Your lifestyle determines how well you flourish. And that's why my company focuses on helping achiever types become "healthy" high achievers who thrive by approaching the achievement of their goals with that mindset. The net effect leads to developing a lifestyle that fully supports you in what you are up to in your family, career, business, creative pursuits, or sport. Steer Clear of Constant Tiredness, Fatigue, and Burnout. When it comes to your career, especially if you are an executive, entrepreneur, or creator/influencer, burnout is one of the biggest challenges people are experiencing these days. It's at the root of lifestyle-induced diseases. I talked about burnout and why it's essential to address its causes in this article on hiring high-performance employees. Today, people are "always-on," which causes them/us to tire out, burn out and wear out prematurely. People respond to stress in ways that create more stress, and right there, that point explains just about every energy and health, performance, and productivity challenge they experience. And that's why I created Lifestyle Coach. To help people who are up to big things in their life, learn how to respond to stress in ways that generate more energy, not more stress, and live a better life. YOU CAN DO THAT WITH A THREE-STEP PROCESS AROUND ANY ASPECT OF YOUR LIFESTYLE 1. CHANGE TO RESOLVE the cause of any hidden lifestyle challenge. There is a fundamental or "essential" like gravity for every aspect of lifestyle, and when you master the essentials of lifestyle, "life" gets better! i.e., Let's say you wanted to get better at walking, then get good a navigating gravity. Just watch a toddler; we've all been there! Here's the thing, no amount of trying to improve or optimize bad fundamentals, which show up as hidden lifestyle challenges, will work or for long. So, in my example, if you want to defy gravity, get ready for a trip to the hospital. You've got to get your lifestyle oriented around sound fundamentals. When you do, you can improve. 2. IMPROVE TO EVOLVE by learning the lifestyle mindset and skillsets you need to apply that fundamental of living via tiny habits and micro-steps to get better and better. Let's use another example everyone has lots of experience with, eating. Once you learn the fundamental that explains what it means to be eating in a genuinely healthy way, you can get better and better at it. You can gain insights and skills. As you learn more, you can link that skill with other aspects of your lifestyle, and that's how you improve; because not one part of your lifestyle works or exists on its own. It depends on other aspects of your lifestyle working for you, and that's how you spiral up. 3. OPTIMIZE TO ACHIEVE your goals, with your health and wellbeing intact. You know you are proficient at any aspect of your lifestyle when you can apply what you know during the most stressful times of your life and not fall back into responding to stress in ways that create more stress. And that's when it matters most anyway. You do not want to be one of those people who is willing to do whatever, whenever, just for the sake of pushing forward because that's when burnout takes over, and you effectively trade your health for success. Remember, your lifestyle is how you achieve your goals. As mentioned above, eating healthy, for example, is not a goal. It's part of the lifestyle that enables you to achieve your family, career, business, creative or sporting goals with the energy and health to function and perform well. That insight will transform your life for the better forever when you fully embrace it. When you no longer make goals out of aspects of your lifestyle, which are nothing more than daily objectives that enable you, you will avoid lifestyle-induced diseases that distract and hold you back.
