I became fascinated with it because, if you know my story at all, I was adept at nutrition and fitness, but my capacities for managing life and stress were not particularly good. As an entrepreneur that was a big problem. As I remember it, learning how to manage my energy is when I started to proactively develop the lifestyle mindset and the skillset for a more balanced and healthy life while achieving my ambitious goals. In the years following and discovering several energy breakthroughs, an approach developed, expanding my lifestyle concept to include but go way beyond oscillating energy expenditure with recovery (one of that book's main ideas), and eating, moving, and sleeping alone. I then discovered an idea in elite athletics that delivered the perfect context for assembling this broader array of principles, practices into an overall strategy. It’s called Performance Lifestyle.
