Some of these resources are geared toward employers with more than 500 employees (and thus not covered by the Families First Coronavirus Response Act) and some are geared toward employers with fewer than 500 employees (and thus covered by the law). TRENTON, N.J. (March 31, 2020) – The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) will launch the application for its Small Business Emergency Assistance Grant Program on Friday, April 3, 2020 at 9:00 am. A link to the grant program application will be posted on the State’s COVID-19 Business Information Hub. The grant program is part of a package of initiatives announced last week to support businesses and workers facing economic hardship due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus COVID-19.

The Senate voted today and approved the Families First Coronavirus Response Act to provide taxpayers with a range of benefits, including (i) employer tax credits, (ii) paid sick and family leave for employees, (iii) expanded food and nutrition services, (iv) emergency state unemployment insurance grants, and (v) increased Medicaid funding to states, among other things. SBA acted under its own authority, as provided by the Coronavirus Preparedness and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act that was recently signed by the President, to declare a disaster following a request received from Gov. The recent outbreak of a new strain of virus COVID-19 has infected over 100,000 worldwide to date. It is a risk to public health and the communities in Morris County and our regional community. There is no specific cure at this time, but there are guidelines that may cut the risks and help to create a safer environment. This is especially urgent for locations where the public may gather or in the workplace itself. Atlantic Health System announced that the National Cancer Institute (NCI) has designated Atlantic Health as a National Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP) site of the Atlantic Health Cancer Consortium (AHCC). As the first and only New Jersey-based NCORP, AHCC will help develop and implement NCI cancer prevention, screening, care delivery and treatment studies with leading health care systems across the state.
