 Morristown, NJ, July 28, 2020 – Atlantic Health System announced today that Morristown Medical Center was ranked the number one hospital in New Jersey for the third year in a row by U.S. News & World Report in its 2020-2021 Best Hospital rankings The medical center was the only acute care hospital in New Jersey to be nationally ranked, and among the best 50 hospitals in the nation for Orthopedics (#28), Gynecology (#32), and Cardiology & Heart Surgery (#38). In addition, Morristown Medical Center was rated the number 8 hospital in the New York Metro area.
After extensive review of preclinical and clinical data from Phase 1/2 clinical trials, and in consultation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER) and other global regulators, Pfizer and BioNTech have chosen to advance their BNT162b2 vaccine candidate into the Phase 2/3 study, at a 30 µg dose level in a 2 dose regimen. BNT162b2, which recently received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Fast Track designation, encodes an optimized SARS-CoV-2 full length spike glycoprotein (S), which is the target of virus neutralizing antibodies.
HHS Announces Second Round of High Impact COVID-19 Area Funding
July 24, 2020 - Washington, DC - Representative Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11) announced that three hospitals in NJ-11 will receive $29.75 million in a second round of funding from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act that Congress passed in April. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will distribute a total of $10 billion in funding to hospitals across the country through the Provider Relief Fund starting this week.  New procedure will maximize air flow volume and recirculation of cabin air for passengers - United’s HEPA filtration system recycles air every 2-3 minutes and removes 99.97% of particles making an aircraft a cleaner environment than restaurants, grocery stores, schools or some hospitals.
