Recognizing Courage Beyond the Call of Duty
The Valor Award honors first responders who faced life-threatening danger while protecting the public with extraordinary acts of courage far beyond expected duty. The Meritorious Award recognizes first responders whose actions far exceed professional performance, but imminent danger of death was not present.

Each April, the 200 Club brings together honorees, families and friends, business and civic leaders, and members of police, fire, EMS, and the New Jersey State Police to pay tribute to those who protect our communities every day.

Now in its 33rd year, the Partners in Economic Development Awards bring together business leaders, real estate professionals, public officials, nonprofit organizations, and regional stakeholders for a morning dedicated to recognizing the people and projects shaping Morris County’s economic vitality.
The event highlights achievements that support business growth, workforce development, tourism, innovation, and long-term regional resilience. This year’s program will include keynote remarks from Rob Caridad, Development Director at Advance Realty Group. A seasoned real estate development professional based in the New York City metropolitan area, Caridad brings extensive experience in commercial and mixed-use development, investment strategy, and redevelopment initiatives.

More than 100 attendees are expected to participate in networking, keynote presentations, and awards recognizing standout real estate transactions and organizations making a measurable impact across the county.

Honoring Years of Dedicated Service
Good Grief honors Conor Dolan, Commercial Real Estate Advisor at CBRE, who concluded his tenure after six years of honorable service on the Board. During his tenure, which started as a member on the Good Grief Gala committee, the organization achieved significant milestones in donor engagement and community outreach, while expanding programs and navigating a changing landscape. "Conor has been a steadfast advocate for our mission," added Heiss. "We are deeply grateful for his years of dedication to the families we serve."

Also leaving the board is Simone Sloan, Leadership Executive and Coach at Your Choice Coach, who provided two years of dedicated service to Good Grief. “Simone provided invaluable advice and counsel to me during the recent revision of Good Grief’s strategic plan,” said Heiss. “We wish her much success in her future projects!”

It provides students opportunities to study architecture, the building trades of plumbing, electrical work, and HVAC (heating, air conditioning, and ventilation) systems, and real estate. Enrollment will grow by one grade each year. The school welcomed 212 ninth graders this fall, who will form its first graduating class in 2029.

On Saturday, November 1st, the Market Street Mission will be hosting our annual Coat Giveaway from 10am-1pm on the Morristown Green. Men’s, women’s, and children’s sizes will be available, and anyone in need of a winter coat and accessories is welcome to attend. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held at the Mission at 9 Market Street in Morristown.
“It’s important for everyone to have a warm winter coat in this New Jersey winter weather,” says Debbie McKenna, Market Street Mission’s Volunteer and Events Manager. “Our team of volunteers looks forward to caring for our guests, helping each person choose the coat that’s right for them. This event is a great way to connect with and care for our community, year after year.”

Each year, the Mission is able to give away thousands of coats, hats, gloves, and scarves at our Mission locations throughout New Jersey, thanks to the generosity of local individuals, businesses, and churches who host collections to donate new and gently used winter items. We also depend on the help of an incredible team of volunteers to keep the event running smoothly. Volunteers help set up the coats and accessories, and also assist our community guests in finding the coats they need. Bilingual (English and Spanish) volunteers are especially needed!

For the past seven years Gordon has been the Director of Retail overseeing the Mission thrift stores in Morristown and Asbury Park. Many know Gordon’s influence has extended beyond the walls of the thrift stores. His tireless dedication to that role and the larger ministry of Market Street Mission has generated remarkable success for the Mission.

Prior to joining Market Street, he spent 25 years in the corporate world rising to the VP of Marketing for an international company known as the preeminent instrument designer in the global ophthalmic surgical instrument field. From the age of six, all Christian ever wanted to do was to become a chef. Born and raised in the Bronx, NY, he spent his early years in the kitchen under the tutelage of Andy Pforzheimer and the Barteca Group until opening his own wood-fire Italian restaurant, Fortina. He opened five more successful restaurants in just eight years, becoming one of New York’s authorities on Italian cuisine and the art of red sauce. Christian hit the national stage, winning Next Food Network Star season 14 and became an instant fan favorite through his charm and infectious positivity. He became a recurring guest judge on Food Network shows that include: Chopped, Beat Bobby Flay, Guy’s Grocery Games, Diners Drive Ins, and Dives, and Tournament of Champions.
