Thrive Morris Gives and LEAD Morris Volunteer at Family Promise and the Interfaith Food Pantry of Morris County On Friday, June 16, 2023, volunteers from Thrive Morris Gives, a philanthropy-driven initiative of Thrive Morris, collaborated with the LEAD Morris Alumni Association, graduates of the county’s Leadership Education and Development program, to donate their time and resources to serve Family Promise and the Interfaith Food Pantry of Morris County. For over 25 years, the Interfaith Food Pantry Network has improved the health and well-being of Morris County residents in need by providing access to food, education, and other resources. In 2022 the food pantry distributed 1,704,668 million pounds of food to over 31,167 households.
In over 30 years of existence, Family Promise has expanded from a single shelter program to offering just under ten programs. They provide shelter, housing, and outreach to families and individuals facing homelessness and housing insecurity in Morris County. lives of families and The volunteers dedicated their time to gardening vegetables and planting flowers, enhancing the outdoor spaces for visitors to enjoy. They also participated in painting projects, revitalizing rooms to create a welcoming environment. In addition, the volunteers sorted and organized food donations which were distributed to 197 families, ensuring that essential resources reached those in need. "We believe in the power of community and the importance of lending a helping hand to those in need," said Kathy D'Agati, leader of Thrive Morris Gives. "Our organization is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of individuals and families facing challenges. Partnering with Family Promise and the Interfaith Food Pantry allowed us to directly impact the community and address the pressing issue of homelessness and food insecurity." “The LEAD Morris program was developed to power leadership and community service,” said Danielle Grayson, Director of LEAD Morris. “We are proud to support nonprofit organizations that improve the quality of life in Morris County and help make it a better place to live for all residents.” The Interfaith Food Pantry of Morris County expressed gratitude for the support. Executive Director, Carolyn Lake stated, "We are incredibly thankful for the dedicated volunteers from Thrive Morris Gives and Leadership Morris. Their generosity and willingness to assist have made a significant impact on our ability to serve the community. Together, we are making strides in the fight against hunger."
