Florham Park N.J. – Feb. 23, 2021 – The Morris County Chamber of Commerce announced that TD Bank has agreed to be the platinum sponsor the chamber’s Women in Business Program for 2021, including the program’s four annual signature events featuring prominent keynote speakers. The first 2021 event was held Friday, Feb. 19, and featured Dr. Lise Maguire, author of “Flashback Girl.” The Women in Business Program (WIB) offers businesswomen an opportunity to grow within an atmosphere created specifically for them and to meet professional women from all sectors and sizes of businesses who face similar issues and challenges as do they, according to its mission statement. As one of its signature programs, the Morris Chamber’s WIB program offers networking opportunities and events that bring women together to hear from inspiring speakers. “TD's commitment to advancing women in leadership aligns to our Diversity & Inclusion values,” said Sarah Cole, senior vice president, market commercial credit manager at the bank. “At the heart of all we do at TD is a culture of care where everyone is seen, included, appreciated and supported. The bank's unique and inclusive culture starts with great colleagues who feel engaged, take pride in their work and feel respected and valued for who they are. By attracting and developing people from all backgrounds, skill sets and mindsets, we are ultimately creating a richer, more inclusive experience for our colleagues, customers and communities."
“Expanding leadership opportunities for women is essential in order to develop great leaders and advance our business,” Cole continued. “At TD, women have access to valuable learning experiences, ongoing support for career goals and a powerful network of more than 15,000 women across North America of like-minded colleagues.” For the fifth year in a row TD was included in the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index in 2021, a measure reflecting internal company statistics, employee policies, external community support and engagement, and gender-conscious product offerings. "At TD, we strongly believe in giving back, which is why we sponsor development programs for women and support organizations that make a difference,” Cole added. “TD is honored to support the Women in Business series and is deeply committed to advancing leadership opportunities for women across the bank and beyond." The keynote speakers for the three additional 2021 Women in Business signature events are being finalized. Recent keynotes have included Jean Chatsky, financial editor of NBC’s ”TODAY” show; Rep. Mikie Sherrill, congresswoman for New Jersey’s 11th district; Mindy Scheier, adaptive fashion crusader and founder of the Runway of Dreams Foundation; and Jill Kaplan, president of New York and New Jersey for United Airlines. “The Morris County Chamber of Commerce is proud of all we have achieved through the Women in Business Program, which includes accomplished women from all sectors and company sizes helping to guide and shape our constantly evolving business community and the wider community in general,” said Meghan Hunscher, chamber president. “In addition, the program’s volunteer leaders have created events that highlight the contributions of women in business and are among the best attended the chamber offers, bringing together both women and men. We are honored to have TD Bank, an institution so committed to advancing women in business, as our Platinum sponsor for 2021.” About the Morris County Chamber of Commerce The Morris County Chamber of Commerce has more than 700 member organizations that range from entrepreneurs and small businesses to large corporations and Fortune 500 companies.
