Rosanne DeTorres to Chair NJBIA Women Business Leaders Council

Rosanne DeTorres, co-founder of DeTorres & DeGeorge Family Law and one of only 150 attorneys in the state certified by the NJ Supreme Court as a Matrimonial Law Attorney, is the new chairwoman of NJBIA’s Women Business Leaders Council (WBLC). ​

“NJBIA is thrilled to welcome Rosanne as the new chair of the Women Business Leaders Council,” said NJBIA’s Kate Conroy, who directs the council. “She is an incredibly accomplished attorney who has used her skills as a lawyer to build a thriving practice, which makes her the perfect ambassador for NJBIA’s campaign to get more women in business leadership positions.”

“The council is a great way to empower women to take on the business world and overcome the obstacles that keep us from moving further up the ranks,” DeTorres said. ”Women entrepreneurs have worked hard to make their mark in business and it’s high time we started reaping the rewards.”

At DeTorres & DeGeorge, DeTorres handles all types of family law issues, including divorce, custody and parenting time, the division of assets and debts, including businesses and executive compensation packages, domestic violence cases, and after divorce modifications and reviews. She is a trained family law mediator and collaborative law attorney. As chairwoman of the WBLC, DeTorres will host quarterly meetings to help women in business develop the leadership skills needed to move up the corporate ladder and develop the contacts they will need to help women reach the C-suite. She will also play an instrumental role in organizing and presenting NJBIA’s Women Business Leaders Forum in September, which this year will be held as a virtual event.
