MORRISTOWN, NJ, November 14, 2023 – Preschool Advantage, a Morristown-based non-profit organization, held its 2023 annual Turning Leaves benefit dinner at Brooklake Country Club in Florham Park on October 18th. The event drew a sell-out crowd of 225 guests. Proceeds from the evening will fund preschool tuition for 35 local students next year. In addition to being the organization’s largest annual fundraiser, Turning Leaves is also an opportunity to honor those individuals, and organizations who have made transformative contributions to Preschool Advantage. This year’s community honoree was The Hampshire Companies, the Morristown-based national real estate operator, investor, and fund manager. Like Preschool Advantage, Hampshire is committed to transforming possibility into opportunity. Deborah Hanson, Hampshire’s chief risk officer, accepted this honor on behalf of the company which has supported the Preschool Advantage mission since 2007.
Preschool Advantage also gave special recognition to a long-time partner school, The Preschool Place and Kindergarten. Sharing her thoughts about the importance of early education, Preschool Place Director, Carol Rubnitz, said, “it is how children feel about themselves and the confidence children build in their early years that can set the groundwork for a lifetime of achievement.” Judith Martin-Veatch of MeTV and an appraiser for Collectors Call served as guest emcee along with her sister, Preschool Advantage Executive Director, Nancy Bangiola. Together, they challenged the 225 attendees to raise their paddles in support of this important cause. The event raised over $225,000 to fund tuition for children in our community. Sponsors included Carol & Ray Hawkins, the William T. & Marie J. Henderson Foundation, The Hampshire Companies, the Sudler Foundation, the Foundation for Morristown Medical Center, and other community-minded benefactors. Preschool Advantage Trustee, Kyle Colwell commented, “we were thrilled to have such a wonderful turnout at our Turning Leaves gala. We were also pleasantly surprised to see so many new faces, especially many young professionals looking to benefit the local community.” About Preschool Advantage: Preschool Advantage funds preschool tuition for three- and four-year-old children at 27 high-quality partner preschools in Morris and Somerset Counties. Its mission is to give children a fair chance to succeed in life by opening the doors of preschool and unlocking the possibilities beyond.
