The Leadership Morris Class of 2020, on hold since March, will resume their Covid-stalled journey on February 26th. The class will meet virtually for 10 monthly sessions covering the major venues and content of the originally designed program. Under the leadership of Dr. Joe Nazzaro, program participants will meet the key personalities and leaders of Morris County’s major institutions. Nazzaro explained that the sessions will include presentations and interaction with the key leaders of the venue being explored. For example, on County Government Day (March 10th) the class will meet and hear from County Administrator, John Bonanni and guests, which will include two County Commissioners and the County Clerk. The class will have the opportunity to interact with the presenters at each venue and prepare in advance through viewing various websites and other information provided. In some cases, following the virtual visit, the participants will be able to physically visit the site on their own or with their small team. This would include outdoor venues such as the Great Swamp or Tourne County Park following safe protocols.
The class will begin with a virtual re-acquaintance orientation retreat on the 26th and follow most of the traditional venues and activities. Board reports will continue as will small team gatherings. The class will plan a community service project for future implementation. As a new and value-added feature, the program will offer 10 optional virtual Leadership Webinars headed by Edward Ramirez, current Director of the Morris County Economic Development Corporation. The sessions will explore personal leadership styles, team building, emotional intelligence, strategic planning for non-profits, and time management among other topics. The class will also be afforded the opportunity to join, when possible, the field trips with the class of 2022. Comments are closed.
