Washington Township, NJ -- Heath Village is proud to announce the opening of The Meadows, its new 92,000 square foot nursing and rehabilitation facility. Located at 451 Schooley’s Mountain Road, across the street from its main campus, the Meadows is licensed for 108 long-term and short-term care beds. “Nearly eight years in the making, we are extremely excited to provide our residents and seniors living throughout New Jersey with access to state-of-the-art, cutting edge skilled nursing care and rehabilitation services. It is especially gratifying to be able to achieve this during what has been the most difficult year in our community’s history,” said Mary Ellen Bove, Heath Village Chief Operating Officer and Administrator. Bove, who oversaw the project, further stated “while The Meadows represents a significant change from the current health care center in terms of its spacious new look and layout, the one thing that remains the same is the superior care that our compassionate frontline staff provides to our residents. It is an honor to work with this team of caring and dedicated professionals.” The Meadows features a progressive small household design allowing for more personalized and flexible resident care. There are four long-term and two short-term/sub-acute care households. Each household accommodates 18 residents. To help make the space feel more homelike, every long and short-term care resident will have their own private bedroom. This popular amenity not only offers improved quality of life but enhances Heath Village’s already stringent infection control measures it has in place to help prevent the spread of viruses such as Covid-19. Recently ranked as a Best Nursing Home for 2020-21 by U.S. News & World Report, Heath Village is Medicare certified, with a five-star rating. The new rehabilitation center is equipped with the latest technology. It includes an Activities of Daily Living (ADL) suite where patients can practice a variety of life skills such as cooking, showering, and getting in and out of bed. There is also an outdoor courtyard designed to help patients maneuver different terrains and inclines. “Heath Village has long been a leader in the senior living industry. The Meadows’ innovative design serves as one more example of the community’s dedication to providing seniors with the highest quality health care, delivered in accordance with current best practices. We look forward to continuing to serve the senior community for many years to come,” said Patrick Brady, CEO of Heath Alliance for Care, the parent company of Heath Village Retirement Community.
