County chamber to honor Morris County Sheriff James M. Gannon April 29 at Legislative Luncheon4/5/2022
Senate Majority Leader Teresa Luiz and Senate Minority Leader Steve Oroho to speak Florham Park N.J. – April 5, 2022 – Morris County Sheriff James M. Gannon will be honored by the Morris County Chamber of Commerce with the Alex DeCroce Public Leadership 2022 Award at its spring Legislative Luncheon, Friday, April 29, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Meadow Wood in Randolph. The luncheon also will feature an interactive discussion of issues of importance to the Morris County business community by Senate Majority Leader Teresa Luiz and Minority Leader Steve Oroho. Sheriff Gannon was elected to his first, three-year term as Morris County Sheriff in 2016 and was re-elected to his second term in 2019. He focuses on:
Sheriff Gannon grew up in Boonton and earned his associate’s degree in law enforcement from County College of Morris and his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice administration from William Paterson University. He also is a graduate of the FBI National Academy. He began his career in law enforcement as a patrolman in Boonton, then moved to the Morris County Prosecutor’s office before entering the private sector to become global head of security risk at Novartis Pharmaceuticals. Sheriff Gannon serves as president of the 200 Club of Morris County, as an adjunct professor at Centenary College and is the co-founder of the Morris County Chapter of the Emerald Society of the State of New Jersey. “Sheriff Gannon is a lifelong resident of Morris County who has dedicated his life to improving and safeguarding the county’s residents and businesses,” said Meghan Hunscher, chamber president. “In addition, he has always been active in giving back to the community through programs such as Hope One, a mobile substance use and mental health disorder outreach effort, and our county is a better place because of him.
