MORRIS COUNTY, NJ – 6/23/2022 – On Saturday, June 4, Assemblywoman Aura Dunn attended Family Promise of Morris County’s Celebrating the Promise volunteer appreciation event, where she spoke poignantly to the nonprofit’s vital work within the community. A citation was presented to the Morris County nonprofit in honor of their devoted community of volunteers and supporters.
Celebrating the Promise was held in celebration of Family Promise of Morris County’s network of over 1,600 volunteers, whose support has remained steadfast despite the pandemic’s many hardships. For more than three decades, volunteer engagement has ensured the completion of many day-to-day operations, keeping the organization as a whole cost-efficient and grounded in its community.
Elected to New Jersey’s 25th Legislative District in 2020, Dunn’s dedication to community organizations such as Family Promise of Morris County has long been apparent through her commitment to improving the opioid crisis, mental health, and education, and creating more job accessibility within Morris and Sussex counties.
From highly individualized programming to large-scale community engagement initiatives, Family Promise of Morris County works to transform the lives of families and individuals experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity—always with the end goal of empowerment toward long-term success. This vital work aims to increase Morris County’s overall economic, health, and housing outcomes through Housing, Outreach, and Shelter programming. The support of the agency’s dedicated community of volunteers and supporters, including leaders such as Assemblywoman Dunn, is most essential to this work now more than ever.
