On-Track to Fund 100 Children’s Preschool Tuition! Still Accepting Applications for 2025-26 Bernardsville NJ! On Monday, June 16th, Preschool Advantage hosted its 29th annual golf outing at Somerset Hills Country Club in Bernardsville, New Jersey. The golf outing is one of two major annual fundraising events for the organization, which raises money to pay preschool tuition for families who find it challenging to cover the cost. This year’s event raised enough money to send 25 children in Morris and Somerset Counties to one of our 30 high-quality partner preschools. Monday’s outing was the first time that Preschool Advantage had held its event at Somerset Hills Country Club. This venue, with its world class and nationally ranked golf course, brought a new level of excitement to the day. Over 120 golfers attended and were treated to the renowned A.W. Tillinghast golf course, which challenged all the players, no matter their skill level. On and off rain and cooler than usual temperatures made the day feel like a golf trip to Scotland.
A dozen other attendees in their classic tennis whites enjoyed a friendly but competitive day of tennis. A small but mighty staff and group of volunteers ran the day seamlessly and to perfection, starting just after sunrise, and winding up the day as the sun set. “We were so excited to bring our annual golf outing to Somerset Hills Country Club this year. Despite clouds and drizzle, everything about the day went perfectly and our 150+ guests were all thrilled with the experience. The golf course, the setting, and the event as a whole surpassed our expectations and allowed us to exceed our budgeted goals.” - Matthew Mirett, 1st Vice President, Golf Committee Co-Chair For the third consecutive year, Provident Bank was the Presenting Sponsor. Simon Quick Advisors was a Tournament Sponsor, and other generous sponsors for the event included car dealerships, financial institutions, insurance companies, real estate companies, law firms, and many more. Guests enjoying the beautiful venue of Somerset Hills Country Club “When combined with what we already know, that 85% of brain development occurs before age 5, and that children from economically disadvantaged families often begin kindergarten with a significant deficit in vocabulary and social skills, the new research validates and adds to our understanding of the many benefits of high-quality preschool programs,” said Nancy Bangiola, Executive Director of Preschool Advantage. “We know that when children are enrolled in high-quality preschool programs, they flourish.” Preschool Advantage is on track to fund preschool tuition for 100 children for the 2025-26 school year, and we are still accepting applications for the fall.
