The Market Street Mission, providing meals, shelter and hope in Morristown, Asbury Park, Newton and Paterson, is pleased to welcome Gordon Dahl as our next CEO. The Board of Directors initiated a national search earlier this year following the retirement of long-time CEO G. David Scott, only to discover the ideal candidate was already on staff. For the past seven years Gordon has been the Director of Retail overseeing the Mission thrift stores in Morristown and Asbury Park. Many know Gordon’s influence has extended beyond the walls of the thrift stores. His tireless dedication to that role and the larger ministry of Market Street Mission has generated remarkable success for the Mission.
Prior to joining Market Street, he spent 25 years in the corporate world rising to the VP of Marketing for an international company known as the preeminent instrument designer in the global ophthalmic surgical instrument field. He led his team with excellence, and the company grew and flourished during his tenure. Gordon also serves in leadership at Christ the King Church in Dover, a position he has held for more than 25 years. No matter where Gordon has worked or served, his love for Jesus and desire to serve Him has shone steady and true. “Gordon brings a deep spiritual maturity and servant's heart as well as proven strategic leadership wherever he serves. He is well known for his relational care, integrity, and pursuit of excellence,” says Market Street Board Chair AJ Rice. He adds, “We are thrilled to have Gordon at the helm of Market Street Mission as we enter this next chapter and continue in our commitment to share the transforming love of Jesus with those who are struggling with addiction and brokenness.” The Market Street Mission is an experienced organization with a proven method of helping to fight alcoholism, substance abuse, hunger, and homelessness throughout New Jersey. As a registered 501(c)3 and 509(a)1 public charity, we rely on the charitable support of compassionate donors to provide more than 150,000 meals and 47,000 nights of shelter per year across our locations.
