At IT Radix, one of our core values is "We Give Back." Giving back can take on many facets. We have given back to each other in our IT Radix family in times of need or struggle. We continuously give back to our local communities, by doing different outreach activities like Habitat for Humanity and Project Readiness. One of the ways we give back is to donate time and materials to some of our clients. Jersey Battered Women’s Service (JBWS), a nonprofit agency that provides safety, support, and solutions for abuse for anyone who lives or works in Morris County, New Jersey, and faces the issues of intimate partner abuse, is one of our long-time clients. We have had the opportunity to give back to JBWS in several ways. Laurie T ("LT") is IT Radix's designated technician who is onsite at JBWS three days per week. She provides the day-to-day management of all technology services, including network and server administration, hardware and software maintenance, Microsoft 365, and phone system management. She provides JBWS with white glove help desk support—assisting with technology troubleshooting and training of new staff. LT is their superhero and has been JBWS' technician for more than six years now. She has become very close with JBWS staff members and has kept us informed of different needs that arise at the shelter. During the past year, JBWS unfortunately experienced an incident that destroyed almost all their pantry’s contents. LT spearheaded a food drive at IT Radix to help them replenish their food supply so residents could continue to have access to dietary staples such as soup, cereal, and vegetables. Having these basics on hand for the residents when they arrive helps to make their transition to the shelter a bit easier.
IT Radix also held a coat drive for the residents and their families. We collected coats and jackets ranging in size from toddlers to adults. LT was not only the facilitator of the drive, but she also delivered all the collected items to JBWS! IT Radix has also donated refurbished laptops and other recycled computer equipment to JBWS. Our technicians have given their time and expertise into reconditioning these items for JBWS staff, residents, and their families. IT Radix is always happy to donate time, talent, and effort to JBWS. In return, we are the recipients of gratitude and smiles—a win-win scenario that we would not trade for anything! Comments are closed.
