It involves maintaining a strong and efficient heart, normal blood pressure, balanced cholesterol levels, and good circulation to reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, and other cardiovascular conditions.
Of course we do this by eating well, getting enough physical activity, good quality and quantity of sleep, and managing stress. I always say, we all know what to do, but, putting the consistent lifestyle practices into place to support our good heath is the key to good health. These healthy practices are supported by the Chamber’s Health & Wellness committee and two specifically are yours for the taking in the form of ongoing events. One healthy practice is getting out together monthly to hike, and the other is to open up your heart and give of yourself with volunteer time. Both are great for networking and building relationships and your business too! Something you can do for your heart health now is register and join us for our monthly hikes led by Health Coach Mary Ellen Zung and Dr. Billy Stetzel. You’ll get physical activity and build relationships too. Our next hike is being sponsored by The Great Swamp Watershed on Friday, March 28. Our hearts are full when we work with Kathy D’Agati of Back to Basic Wellness on Thrive Morris Gives events such as sorting food at food banks, donating toiletries to un-housed through Hope One, sprucing up gardens at not-for-profit locations, and more. Please register for these events on the Morris County Chamber Events Calendar Mary Ellen Zung, BA is an Integrative Health Coach.
