In 2001 post 9/11, the Morris County Prosecutor, requested that the Morris County Chamber of Commerce form the Infrastructure Advisory Group (IAG) to mirror the private sectors represented in the State Infrastructure Advisory Committee (IAC). This was done, and a project to establish a private sector involvement in emergency response was undertaken by the Morris County Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with Picatinny Arsenal and the Steven’s Institute.
Today the IAG Addresses all hazards response and business continuity including: Natural Disasters (including weather), Pandemic, Biochemical, Power failures, Fires etc. Annually the Chamber holds a preparedness conference – which for the two past years featured Richard Cañas, Director NJ Homeland Security and Preparedness.
