SCORE® provides HELP for your business!

SCORE® is a national network of over 12,000 volunteer business executives and professionals-- mostly retired, but many are still active-- that provides small business with technical and managerial counseling and training.

New Jersey SCORE® counselors are local volunteers that know New Jersey and your local community. They volunteer their time, expertise, and knowledge to help the local small business community through no-fee counseling, mentoring, and low cost workshops at more than 25 locations in the state of New Jersey.

If you are thinking of starting a business (about 30% of the US population is at any given time), call for an appointment to leverage this invaluable resource. SCORE® counselors can help by reviewing your business plan, or if you do not have one, they can get you started with a plan.

If you own a small business you know how valuable expert managerial, marketing, financial and other technical skills are. SCORE® is an inexpensive resource that can provide such expertise gained from years of experience that can help you with second opinions, brainstorming, or unbiased assessments of your business operations and plans.

Confidential, No-charge Business Counseling

The SCORE® Association provides personalized, confidential counseling to help people start and operate a successful small business. SCORE counselors offer advice based on their years of business experience as executives or small business owners. These counselors are also members of your community and are familiar with local resources, business climate, and demographics. Counseling topics are based on the needs of your business. All businesses must understand the 3 "M"s: Marketing (a business without customers is not a business), Management (the reason most businesses fail), and Money (the reason a business exists). Counseling may include, but is not limited to, writing or reviewing the business plan, developing marketing strategies, securing financing, or managing business growth.

Whether you are thinking about starting a business or have been in business for a while, SCORE® is available to you as a sounding board for an idea, as business advisors, for brainstorming, or just solid business advice. Besides, many of our counselors have industry specific experience that can be tapped if needed. Low-cost Seminars & Workshops...

SCORE ® volunteers also coordinate low-cost seminars and workshops to provide entrepreneurs training on specific topics. Seminars include topics on financing your business, writing a business plan, legal and record keeping requirements, and marketing your product or services.
